Isaiah 3:1-8 shows us what it would look like when God waged war against Judah and Jerusalem. He took away all of their necessities as well as their artificial supports. Necessities like food and water, a strong military and police force, a just civil government, and respect for our elders. Artificial supports like magicians and experts in charms. He took away all of their enablers so that they would hit bottom. We too should not take the necessities of life for granted. To be sure God will not wage war against those in Christ. But we are not to take these things for granted because we are to pray to God and ask for them. And then we are not to lean on them as our supports but to trust in God that He will provide what we need. One Day Jesus will return and rid the land of idols and take away all of the supports of the idolater. Those who trust in Christ will start throwing out our idols now.
