Matthew 10:34-39, Matthew 12:46-50, 1 Timothy 5:1-2 form the background for this topical message on Mother’s Day. We observed that Jesus tears existing families apart and then puts new ones together. We are a family — all brothers and sisters in Christ, but the older brothers are like fathers and the older sisters act like mothers. This is the same thing you see happen in large families. “Who is my mother?” The older sister in faith who does the will of God the Father. So we remembered the mothers in faith that made a difference in our own walk with God.
