Isaiah 42:10-43:7 shows us that Israel was blind and deaf, unable and unwilling to do the will of God. They were supposed to be a light and blessing to the nations, but they were not blessed and they lived in darkness. But those called by His name can see and hear because of the light Jesus has shined into your hearts — you are able and willing to do the will of God because He has given you His Spirit. Where Israel failed, Jesus was victorious. He is the light that shined in the darkness. It was not because we had been been born with eyes to see and ears to hear but because we were born again with eyes to see and ears to hear. We wer blind, but we have been lead in a way that we did not know — the way of Jesus Christ. It’s a new day, and a new light — new creation for us. All of the obstacles keeping us from God have been removed through Jesus’ work, we can see the invisible realm by faith in Jesus who has enlightened us. God was willing to pay any price, even the price of the blood of His Son, to redeem us from our slavery to sin and bring us back from exile from Him. He formed and made us out of nothing — new creation, new day, new light.
