Luke 24:13-35 is a story of how Jesus went down the road of doubt and disillusionment with two of His disciples. They were unable to recognize that it was Him on that road with them, but He listened as they shared their doubts and dashed expectations openly with Him. And He does the same for us — us who grew up in the church and know the stories of the Gospels and yet are slow to believe. He is with us, even when we cannot see Him, on that road of doubt and sadness. Then He offers a gentle rebuke that we should know the pattern is suffering and then glory. But even then some are slow to believe. Listen to find out what moved these two disciples on the road to Emmaus to faith in Jesus — it may just be the same thing that moves you who are slow to believe to faith in Jesus.
